Lil Wayne To Pay Quincy Jones $2 Million For Copyright Infringement Case.
In the Case between Rapper Lil Wayne and Producer Quicy Jones, over copyright infringement, on the 5th of November 2012, Lil Wayne was ordered by a judge to pay Quincy Jones III $2.2 million after losing a copyright battle over one of his songs. The jury found the defendant guilty and Wayne was ordered to pay Jones $2,195,000 based on the counter suit that argued Wayne cut into his documentary's
profits by blocking the release of his film "The Carter" in 2009. Wayne initially sued Jones over a documentary he says used his music without authorization, but was chastised by the judge after submitting a video in which he showed "irresponsible behaviour".
In other news, Rapper Juvenile claims Lil Wayne is allegedly broke and he is scared to leave cash money. According to the "Back That Thang Up" rapper Juve, Lil Wayne was ripped off in more ways than one, not only by choosing to remain with the Cash Money imprint that eventually gave rise to its subsidiary, Young Money, but by failing to profit substantially from Tha Carter III album, which literally made history.
It looks like double trouble for the rapper, lets pray he pulls through with a reality show, since that is usually the next option for celebs these days.
