Obama Hangs With JayZ And Beyonce At 40/40 Club

The US President, Barack Obama, after leving the David Letterman show, stopped by the 40/40 club last night to attend the $40,000-per-person  fundraiser hosted by Jay-Z and Beyonce. The President was in New York to raise a few dollars for his campaign as well as attend the opening of this year's session of the United Nations. The program started with a speech from Beyonce stating;
"I can't tell you how proud we are to host tonight's event with President Obama," Beyonce, We believe in his vision."
This was said in While addressing those present, Obama said;
"Beyonce could not be a better role model for my girls, and I and Jay-Z have a lot in common.
We both have daughters and our wives are more popular than we are. So, you know, we've got a little bond there. It's hard but it's okay."
It was a more subdued speech than what some may have expected at such a glitzy affair, according to the pool report. Obama hit many of the same themes from his standard stump speech, saying he wanted to make sure that,
"here in America, you can make it if you work hard."

But he also added some new points, including about riding a fine line between confidence in his prospects and instilling urgency in such a close election.

"I don't want people to be complacent, but I don't want people to be discouraged," he said.
Here are some pictures from the fundraiser:
